— Jacob R. Schmidt, 82 year old pioneer at Goessel, died at the Bethesda hospital Thursday morning, Jan. 6. Grandfather Schmidt is survived by several sons and daughters, among whom is Mrs. D. G. Klassen of Newton. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl church.
