text of obituary:

ISAAC J. SCHMIDT

The Lord saw fit to take our dear father, Isaac J. Schmidt, of Meade, Kansas, to the home above on Saturday, March 10, at 7:15 a.m. He reached the age of almost 77 years.

He was bedfast since August, ill from diabetes. He did not suffer much during that time nor at the time of his death. He did not complain but he was anxious to go home to his reward.

After immigrating with his parents from Poland to South Dakota when he was a boy, he spent his boyhood days in the Mennonite community there.

He first was married to Anna Unruh and after she died he united in marriage again with Justina Wiebe. They lived in Waldheim, Sask., Garden City, Kansas, and Dinuba, California, where his wife died in 1942. Since that time he stayed with his children, Henry R. Friesen at Meade, Kansas. Some time, however, he spent with relatives in Canada, while there on a visit.
