MRS. A. P. SCHMIDT

Mrs. A. P. Schmidt, formerly Hilda Meyer, was born in Deslow, Ohio on Oct. 21,1907, and passed to her eternal reward March 12, 1958, having reached the age of 50 years, four months and 19 days.

In her youth she realized her need of a Saviour and accepted Christ as her personal Saviour from sin. After confirmation she united with the Peace Lutheran Church near Bessie, Okla. After her marriage she united with the Sichar Mennonite Church near Cordell and in 1951 she with her family became charter members of the First Mennonite church in Clinton, of which she remained a sincere and faithful member until her death.

On Sept. 8, 1929, she was united in marriage to A. P. Schmidt. Their home was blessed with five children. In the home, mother filled an all-important place. Her untiring efforts, her love and devotion, her concern for the spiritual needs of her family and loved ones, and her living faith will always be cherished by her family and also by all who knew her.

Survivors include her life partner and husband, four daughters and one son, Mary Bell, Mrs. Beryl Thomas of El Paso, Texas, Betty Jo, Mrs. Jimmy Hill of Clinton, Irvin Schmidt of Clinton, Levata and Joyce Schmidt of the home; five grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Katie Meyer of Bessie; three sisters, Mrs. John Gaeddert and Miss Frieda Meyer of Clinton, and Mrs. Gordon Olney of Yakima, Wash.; three brothers, Otto Meyer of Clinton and Martin and Loule of the parental home; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Schmidt of Reedley, Calif.; a number of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and a host of relatives, neighbors and friends.

TWO MEMBERS CALLED AWAY IN DEATH

Clinton, Okla. — Two members of the First Mennonite Church of Clinton have been called away in death within recent weeks.

Mrs. A. P. (Hilda) Schmidt died on March 12 after a long illness, and P. J. Flaming died on April 2.
