• Word has been received here that Mrs. Clinton Schmidt, 26, formerly of the Goessel community, died in a Kansas City, Kan. hospital Tuesday morning of injuries received in a traffic accident there last Saturday afternoon. The Schmidt family resided in Kansas City, and she was returning home from her work in a doctor's office when her car was struck by another vehicle at an intersection. She was the former Elnora Schmidt. Surviving are her husband, two children, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Schmidt of Route 2, Newton, and a sister, Mrs. Emory (Marlene) Goertz of Texas. A memorial service will be held Thursday at the Kansas City Mennonite Church, and the body will be returned here for final services at 2 p.m. Friday in the Tabor Mennonite Church.

• A largely attended funeral took place at the Tabor Mennonite Church last Friday afternoon as services were held for Mrs. Elnora Jane Schmidt, 25, of Shawnee Mission, Kan. who died at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City on Jan. 29 of injuries rceived in a traffic accident several days earlier. The services were in charge of Rev. James Waltner, assisted by Rev. H. B. Schmidt and Rev. Stanley Bohn of Kansas City, who gave the sermon. Mrs. Schmidt is survived by her husband, Clinton Schmidt; a daughter, Juanita Lynn, and a son, Jan Leslie; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Schmidt of Route 2, Newton; and one sister, Mrs. Emory Goertz of Norman, Okla.
