ABRAHAM SCHMIDT

Abraham H. Schmidt of Pratum, Oregon, who passed away early last month, was born on July 12, 1885 [sic 1865] in Alexanderwohl, South Russia, at the age of nine years he came to this country with his parents.

He was baptized and received into the church when he was 19 years old.

He was married to Helena Banman on April 29, 1886. To this union were born four children, Katherine (who died in infancy), Helena, Henry and Selma.

Five years ago he was preceded in death by his beloved wife. He is survived by three children: Mrs. Helena Enneis, Mrs. Selma Dalke and Henry Schmidt; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in Pratum on March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clough Barrick chapel. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Quiring sang "Abide With Me: and "For the Road Leads Home." Rev. W. Regier read St. John 13 and gave a short sermon.

Interment was made at Belcrest Memorial park at the side of his wife.
