Funeral services for Elmer G. Sawatzky, 73, were held at the Mennonite Church of Butterfield on March 10. He died unexpectedly while visiting his son and family in Texas. He had been a life-long farmer north of Butterfield. He is survived by his wife, Alvina, one son, one daughter, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
