AGED MOTHER OF MINISTER, MISSIONARY CALLED AWAY IN DEATH

Grabill, Ind. — Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Shanbeck Sauder, 86, of Grabill, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, in the Grabill Mennonite church. Rev. Don Klopfenstein officiated and burial was in Leo Memorial cemetery.

Mrs. Sauder died at 8;15 p.m. July 27 in her home in Grabill. She had been in failing health since she suffered a stroke in July, 1952. A life-long resident of the community, she and her husband, Rev. David Sauder, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary Feb. 19. She was a member of the Grabill church 66 years. her husband is a former pastor and elder of the Evangelical Mennonite conference.

Survivors in addition to the husband are one daughter, Miss Mabel Sauder, on leave after 13 years of missionary work in Congo Belge, under the Congo Inland Mission, and one son Rev. Jerry Sauder of Grabill; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
