CORA E. SAUDER

Cora Ellen Sauder, daughter of Martin and Judith Johns Baer, was born on July 15, 1892 at Wellman, Iowa and passed from this life on Oct. 25, 1972 at the Detwiler Memorial Hospital, Wauseon, Ohio. Her age was 80 years. She had been admitted to the hospital on Oct. 23 for surgery. Death was due to cardiac arrest during the operation.

At six years of age Cora moved to the Archbold area with her parents. Seventy-four years of her life were spent here where she devoted herself to her home, church and community. The contribution of her life cannot be measured in things, but rather in the enriched lives of persons that she loved and served.

On April 15, 1906 Cora was baptized on confession of faith and became a member of the Mennonite Church.

On Nov. 23, 1911 she was married to Emanuel Sauder. Their union was blessed with eight children: Lela, Mrs. Melvin Sauder of Elmira, Ohio; Orval, Edgar, and Loren of Archbold, Ohio; Mrs. Doris Yoder of Pettisville, Ohio; and Valetta, Mrs. Alfred Bonilla of Aibonita, Puerto Rico. Twin sons passed away in infancy.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband; three daughters, three sons, 26 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four sisters; Mrs. Abbie Weiss of Midland, Mich., Mrs. Jemima Grisser, Mrs. Mary Ann Schloneger and Mrs. Amanda Beck, all of Archbold.

Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. at the Central Mennonite Church, conducted by Rev. Charles H. Gautsche and Rev. Dale J. Wyse. Burial in the Pettisville Cemetery.
