Former MCC Worker Dies in Virginia
Harrisonburg, Va. — Nancy Ruth Sarco, 26, former MCC worker and teacher, died Friday afternoon, Dec. 25, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Sarco in Park View.
A 1966 graduate of Eastern Mennonite College, Miss Sarco volunteered for two years of service under MCC. After a year's service in Yugoslavia she became ill and President Tito's physician recommended that she return to the United States for treatment. She taught school in Loudon County, Virginia when not hospitalized under a medical research team.
Surviving in addition to the parents are three brothers, David of the home, Daniel of Philadelphia, and Michael Jr. in the Congo; and one sister Mrs. Charles Woodard of Cowlesville, N.Y.
Funeral services were held Dec. 28 at the Park View Mennonite Church, with Ira Miller in charge.
