Heart Attack Fatal To Illinois Pastor

REV. EARL SALZMAN LONG-TIME PASTOR IN CENTRAL DISTRICT

Flanagan, Ill. — A heart attack proved fatal early Sunday morning, July 30, to Rev. Earl L. Salzman, 65, pastor of the Flanagan Mennonite Church. He had suffered from a heart condition for some time, but had remained active and his death was unexpected.

Rev. Salzman was long active in the work of the Central District Conference, having served pastorates at Topeka and Nappanee, Ind. before coming here. He also served the First Mennonite Church at Upland, Calif.

A native of Carlock, Ill., he was a graduate of Witmarsum Seminary and Goshen College, and attended Garrett Biblical Institute in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife, the former Vinora Weaver, and three daughters, Mrs. Dennis Epp of Freeman, S. D., Mrs. Clem Rosenberger of Johnstown, Pa., and Ruth Ellen at home.

Funeral services were conducted at the local church Aug. 1, followed by final services and burial at Goshen, Ind. on Aug. 2.
