Emry A. Ruth
96, North Newton
Emry A. Ruth, 96, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Kidron Bethel Healthcare Center, North Newton.
He was born May 10, 1916, at Moundridge to Homer G. and Lydia (Krehbiel) Ruth.
He was a retired auto mechanic, formerly of Wichita. He was a North Newton resident since 1985.
He was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, and Newton Lions Club.
On April 12, 1941, he married Fern A. Pankratz at Moundridge. She preceded him in death on Mar. 11, 2006.
Survivors include son: Jay Ruth, Wichita; daughter: Rachel Poling, Newton; sister: Maxine (Orlando) Fast, North Newton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elinor Ewy.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p. m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
Graveside service will be 9:30 a. m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Halstead Cemetery, Halstead.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a. m. at Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, with Pastor Heidi Regier Kreider officiating.
Memorials may be given to Bethel College Mennonite Church, in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
