TWO YOUNG PEOPLE DIE IN ONTARIO CROSSING ACCIDENT
Milverton, Ont. — A large congregation attended funeral services at the Geiger Mennonite church east of Baden for Helen Schmidt, 19, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Schmidt who was instantly killed in a railroad crossing accident near her home on May 24.
Her companion, Owen Rothaermel of Bridgeport, was critically injured and died the following day. He was taking the young woman home from a children's Bible class where she had served as teacher. Her father was the first to reach the scene of the tragedy.
