16-YEAR-OLD IOWA YOUTH MEETS DEATH IN AUTO ACCIDENT

Wayland, Iowa. — This community was saddened by the sudden, accidental death of Raymond Roth 16, in an auto accident near here on Sunday evening, Sept. 5. Funeral services were conducted at the Sugar Creek Mennonite church on Sept. 8 by Rev. Simon Gingerich and Rev. Willard Leichty.

The youth, returning home alone after attending an evangelistic service at the high school here, lost control of his car in front of the Ira Wenger farm home three miles east of here. The car rolled over several times and he was thrown out into an electric highline. The impact caused a flash of fire seen for some distance, and physicians attributed his death to electric shock.

Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Roth, a sister, Elaine; one brother, Merton; and his grandfather, Daniel Sshweitzer [sic Schweitzer] of Milford, Nebr. He was a senior at the Olds high school.
