John P. Roth, 93, retired farmer of the Whitewater community, died Jan. 7. Services were held Jan. 10 at the Swiss Mennonite Church with Arnold Ensz in charge. A native of Switzerland, he was married in 1912 to Anna Rutschman. She died in 1947, and in 1948 he married Minnie L. Harms. She died in 1979. Surviving are a son, Vernon of Whitewater; two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Ed) Voth of Buhler and Mrs. Pauline R. Bales of Logan; two step-sons, Glenn Harms of Loveland, Colo. and Wayne Harms of Shippensburg, Pa.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jack Whiteside of Humble, Tex.; two brothers, Willie and Ted Roth of Whitewater; two sisters, Mrs. Russell Jost of Carthage, Mo. and Mrs. Cecil Stark of Salem, Ore.; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
