MRS. ANNA L. ROTH

Anna L. Roth, nee Rutschman, was born October 26, 1892, at Ransom, Kansas, and after a lingering illness departed this life at Bethel hospital, Newton, Kansas, on June 24, 1947, at the age of 54 years, seven months, and 28 days.

While still a young girl she was baptized and received into the membership of the Swiss Mennonite church, where she remained a faithful member.

On December 26, 1912, she was united in marriage to john P. Roth. They moved to a farm near Whitewater where they have resided ever since. To this union were born four children: Vernon L. of Whitewater, Mrs. Ruth Voth of Newton, Mrs. Irene Mauck of Benton, and Mrs. Pauline Bales of Logan.

She was a wonderful companion and mother. Although she often suffered from ill health, she never neglected her family — always guiding them spiritually. In her last days she realized that she would soon be leaving and she encouraged her family to never waiver in their faith in God. On several occasions, and again a few hours before she met her Lord, she asked her family to join her in the reading of Scripture and prayer. After the last prayer she told her family that she was going to sleep now and would wake up with Jesus.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, one son, three daughters, six grandchildren, six brother, four sisters, her mother-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted in the Federated Church of Whitewater on June 25 at 2:00 p. m., with the Rev. H. J Dyck officiating. interment was at the Swiss cemetery.
