— B. B. Wedel of near Goessel and relatives of this city received a message Friday from Salem, Oregon, telling of the death of Mrs. Martha (Wedel) Roomy [sic Rooney] daughter of F. B. Wedel, formerly of this city. Death came suddenly on February 25th. The deceased is a cousin of Mrs. H. F. Goertzen [sic Mrs. H. S. Goertzen] of 508 West Broadway. She left Newton with her family about twelve years ago. She is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Wedel, her husband and three small children and two brothers and one sister, F. F. Wedel and Ben Wedel all of Salem, Oregon and Mrs. Elizabeth Shrag [sic Schrag] of Washington. The funeral was held Sunday and burial took place in Salem.
