text of obituary:

RAILROAD ACCIDENT AT TISKILWA, ILL., TAKES LIFE OF JOHN RINGENBERG

Tiskilwa, Ill. — Saturday afternoon, Jan. 12, at about 4:00 o'clock John Ringenberg, 55, was instantly killed at a crossing in Tiskilwa when his truck was struck on the Rock Island railroad by the rocket streamliner as it was speeding toward Chicago, running on a belated schedule.

The view is partly hidden by buildings near the truck. Mr. Ringenberg evidently saw the approaching train as he was upon the track and tried to get out of the truck, — but too late. He was unmarried but is survived by three brothers and four sisters.

His father, Jacob Ringenberg, was a minister at the Willow Springs Mennonite church for many years.
