Hillsboro Man Killed at Marion Thursday, Feb. 3

PETE W. RICHERT FATALLY INJURED BY ROCK ISLAND STREAMLINER

Hillsboro, Kansas. — An unusually large funeral was held at the Mennonite Brethren church here Tuesday, the services being for Pete W. Richert, who was instantly killed at about 5:00 p. m. Thursday evening. Feb. 3, at a railroad crossing at Marion when his car was struck by the Rock Island Rocket. Mr. Richert has been operating a delivery service between here and surrounding communities.

Mr. Richert's car was completely wrecked and his body badly man led. He was widely known in the community, having been custodian of Tabor College for a number of years. He was a brother of Prof. Herbert C. Richert, director of music at the college. A large family circle and many friends mourn his tragic and untimely death.
