Albert Richert.

Albert Richert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew B. Richert, was born on march 20, 1908, at Dolton, S. D. While he was still a small boy, his parents moved to Montana. Being the youngest in the family he became much attached to his mother, who brought him up in the fear of the Lord.

He found salvation in Jesus Christ in his youth and was baptized on June 19, 1924 and received into the Bethlehem church at Bloomfield. On April 27, 1935, he was united in marriage to Miss Pearl McConaha at Sidney, Mont., who is left to mourn his early death.

Mr. and Mrs. Richert had received a call to come to a funeral at Malta, Mont. Mr. Richert was not feeling well, but thought there was nothing very seriously wrong when they left on their trip on April 2. After the funeral they left for Fort Peck, Mont. where they spent four days. They then started for their home in Sidney.

At this time he was feeling quite weak and was getting weaker until he was unable to drive the car. Arriving at Wolf Point they decided to stay with Mrs. Richert's mother, who was working there at this time. The doctor was called and it was found that Mr. Richert was suffering from a bad case of quinsy, which developed into black diphtheria. A call was sent to his parents at Richey, Mont., on April 11. The parents left on the same day with their son Ben and wife. As the roads were quite bad it took them 13 hours to make the trip of about 70 miles. After they arrived at Wolf Point they were unable to go into the house and could speak but a few words of comfort to their son through a window. This was a great shock for the parents.

For about 12 days he was ill and suffered much pain until death claimed him on Wednesday, April 15, at 10 o'clock p.m.

Because of the health regulations the body was placed in a casket, sealed, and was brought from Wolf Point on Friday. The funeral service was held at the grave on the Bethlehem cemetery.

Rev. Smith of Sidney and Rev. Sawatsky were in charge of the services.

Mr. Richert reached the age of 28 years and 26 days. He leaves to mourn his widow and parents, three brothers and four sisters, Ben of Richey, Toby of Bloomfield and Peter of Portland, Oregon; Susie, Mrs. Schoenwald; Lena, Mrs. Murl [sic Merle] Long; Mary, Mrs. John Baese [sic Base] and Julie, Mrs. Ralph Graber, all of Richey, and a great number of relatives and friends.
