A. B. RICHERT

A. B. Richert, son of Rev. and Mrs. Jacob Richert, was born Nov. 19, 1886, on a farm near Inman, Kan.

As an eight-year-old boy he moved with his parents to Corn, Okla. where the family were pioneer settlers in 1894. His grade schooling was received in the Corn Valley School. He grew to manhood on a farm three miles northeast of Corn.

He attended Southwestern Normal College and Hills Business College in Oklahoma City, Okla. Later he was employed by the Hulms Milling Co. in Weatherford, Okla. and in 1915 became manager of the Farmers Co-op Elevator at Hydro, Okla.

He served in the army in the First World War. Following his discharge he returned to Hydro, Okla. and served as manager of the Hydro Seed and Grain Co.

In 1919 he was married to Josephine Crawell. To this union were born two sons and three daughters.

In 1928 he accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal Saviour and joined the Wesley Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, where he was a faithful member. He had a clear testimony that he was saved, and that Jesus was real and dear to him.

He passed away on Sept. 29, 1966. The funeral took place Oct. 1 in the Guardian Funeral Home in Oklahoma City with Rev. German, pastor of the Wesley Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Cemetery north of Oklahoma City.

Surviving are his life's companion, of the home; two sons, Baird of Tulsa, Okla. and Henry of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Long, at present in Germany with her husband, Mrs. Adeline Ray of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Joan Newell of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Anna Boese of Corn, Okla., and a brother, Henry A Richert, Weatherford, Okla.
