FERDINAND S. REUSSER

Ferdinand S. Reusser, son of Abraham and Verena Welty Reusser, was born near Moundridge, Kansas on Feb. 8, 1884, and departed from this life Jan. 28, 1953, having reached the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 20 days.

On May 21, 1899, he was baptized on confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and became a member of the First Mennonite church of Christian at Moundridge, Kansas, later transferring his membership to the Mennonite church at Drake, Saskatchewan, and then to the Deer Creek Mennonite church at Deer Creek, Okla.

On Nov. 17, 1906, he was married to Martha J. Krehbiel. To this union were born three sons and one daughter. On June 12, 1944, the daughter was called home to be with the Lord, and on Jan. 14, 1948, Martha his wife was quietly called home.

In March 1913 Ferd with his family moved from Kansas to Saskatchewan where he resided for 23 years. The family came to Oklahoma in 1938 where he resided near Deer Creek oh the present farm home for the past ten years.

On Jan. 8, 1949, he was united in marriage to Rena Zuercher of Bluffton, Ohio. This union brought new and larger relationships into their lives and together they loved and enjoyed each others' children and grandchildren.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Rena, Willard Edward Reusser with his family, Howard Orris Reusser and family of Deer Creek, Okla., Melvin Lucas Reusser and family of Enid, Okla., Merlin Zuercher of the home, Kenneth Zuercher and family of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mrs. Harold Thiessen and family of Middlebury, Ind.; two brothers, David Reusser of Wellington, Kansas, Otto Reusser of Deer Creek, and one sister, Lydia Goebel of Moundridge, Kansas.

In memory we would leave a verse of Scripture which was often quoted by the departed: “For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
