MRS. SARAH REMPEL

Sarah (Epp) Rempel died in Henderson, Neb. Community Hospital at the age of 59 years on July 12, 1974 after a long illness with cancer. She was born Sept. 18, 1914 on a farm near Henderson, the daughter of Peter F. and Sarah (Bergen) Epp. Here she grew up and lived her entire life.

She accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour and Lord in her early youth, Jan. 16, 1931. She was baptized on May 16, 1932 by Elder John F. Epp and accepted as a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church, where she continued her membership till the time of her death.

On Oct. 10, 1934 she was married to Jacob T. Rempel, with whom she shared joys and sorrows for 39 years. They lived on a farm in York County until 1969 when they moved to their new home in Henderson.

Her faith in Christ was reflected in her service to the Lord in various ways: Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, Mission Circle, Sunday school superintendent, Gideon Auxiliary, prayer, an steadfastness. When her health failed, her service to the Lord was her spiritual strength. Her purpose and desire to live was to glorify Christ.

She was a devoted and concerned mother. Her great joy was that each child and their spouse had personally accepted God's gift of salvation. This was also a special comfort to her when their eldest son, Robert, died in January 1948.

Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Lorna and husband, Larry Epp, Aurora, and Lanora and husband, Raymond Heiser, Starkville, Miss.; two sons, Clarence and wife Amanda, Tannerkirch, West Germany, and Marlin and wife Arlene, Lushton, Neb.; six grandchildren; one sister, Martha, Mrs. A. J. Thieszen; and three brothers, Isaac Epp, Gustav epp, and Peter Epp, all of Henderson.
