ROBERT E. REMPEL

Robert Edwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rempel, was born on May 17, 1936, at York, Nebraska, and passed from this life on Jan. 16, 1948, at 9:35 p.m. He attained the age of 11 years and eight months.

He received fatal head Injuries white playing with other children at the noon hour on Jan. 15. He remained conscious until the last few hours, for which we are very grateful.

He saw his lost condition and accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour when he was seven years old. His faith has never faltered and his aim was to do the will of God. When he failed, he was willing to confess it. It was with deep satisfaction that we could see his spiritual life develop.

As his life was drawing to a close, he found that Jesus was a true friend. His last words were that we sing "My Gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou, If ever I loved Thee my Jesus 'tis now," which he helped us sing. When we had finished it, he said “Let us now praise Him,” and he started to sing “Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow.”

He leaves to mourn his early departure his parents, two sisters, Lorna and Lanora, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Rempel and Mr. and Mrs. Peter F. Epp, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Jan, 20 at the Bethesda church, Henderson, Nebr., by Rev. John F. Epp. His text was Ecclesiastes 12:1. Rev. Epp was assisted by Rev. A. W. Friesen, text Matth. 12:39. Fitting songs were sung by the quartet. He was laid to rest in the Bethesda cemetery.
