MRS. LENA REMPEL

Mrs. Lena (nee Klassen) Rempel was born in Wasielowka, South Russia, on November 21, 1888. In 1903 her parents, Rev. David and Agatha Klassen, emigrated to Canada, settling in Borden, Sask. in 1904.

She realized her spiritually lost condition at an early age, was baptized and received into the Borden Mennonite Brethren Church. In 1943 they moved to Greedale, B.C. where she joined the local fellowship.

On April 11, 1911 she joined Henry J . Rempel in marriage. The Lord blessed them with three sons and two daughters.

The Lord saw fit to permit her to suffer with illness for many years. In 1972 her husband passed away. The Lord took her to himself on August 9, at age 86.

She quoted many Scripture passages on her sick bed and trusted God to remain true to his Word. Nehemiah 8:10 was particularly precious: "For the joy of the Lord is your strength."

Left to mourn and yet rejoicing in her victorious life are three sons: Henry and Louise, Bill and Aliene, and Arthur; two daughters: Selma, and Elsie and Frank Driedger; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
