JACOB HENRY REMPEL

Jacob Henry Rempel of Vauxhall, Alta. passed away June 30. He was born Mar. 7, 1917 to Henry and Maria Rempel in Maslyanovka, Russia. In January, 1926 the family immigrated to Manitoba. He accepted Jesus in his younger years. In 1932 he was baptized by his father in a river and joined the MB church. In 1936 the family moved to a farm in Vauxhall, Alta. In 1943 he married Helen Riesen of Yarrow, B.C. Farming and cattle raising gave him much joy. His mottos were "Pray and work" and "Keep your priorities straight." He is remembered for his hearty handshake, booming voice, openness to talk, ready hospitality, forgiving spirit, positive attitude, example of hard work and responsibility, upright life, love of God's Word, songs of praise to God, fervent prayers and thankfulness for God's blessings. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters, he is mourned by his wife; children Ruth Klassen of Lethbridge, Alta., Mary of Lethbridge, Ester Wiens of Fort St. John, B.C., Peter of Westlock, Alta., Paul of Helena, MT, Jake of Valleyview, Alta. and Bob of Lethbridge; 12 grandchildren; 7 sisters and 6 brothers. The funeral was July 4 in Vauxhall MB Church, with Henry Unruh, Peter Rempel and Gerhard Reimer ministering.
