Pioneer Farmer of Altona District Died
SERVICES FOR A. A. REMPEL HELD AT BERGTHALER CHURCH
Altona, Manitoba. — Death claimed one of the pioneer farmers of the Altona district with the passing here of A. A. Rempel, 72. Funeral services were held at the Altona Bergthaler church on Aug. 8 with Rev. J. W. Schmidt in charge, assisted by Rev. P. P. Kehler.
Mr. Rempel, well known retired farmer here, was born in the East Reserve and came to the village of Old Altona as a child. He farmed there until his retirement eight years ago and also served on the school board.
He is survived by his second wife, the former Margaret Hiebert, a daughter, Mrs. David Kehler of Altona, six grandsons, and three sisters.
