AMISH WOMEN ARE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN FATAL ACCIDENT

Apple Creek, Ohio. — An accident involving a car, a truck and an Amish buggy on U.S. Highway 240 near Mt. Eaton Feb. 13 claimed the life of a young mother from Beach City and resulted in serious injuries to her husband and 18-month-old son and two young women riding in the buggy.

Fatally injured was Mrs. Joe Remenaric. Taken to Dunlap hospital at Orrville were Amanda Miller, who had broken ribs and internal injuries, and Lizzie P. Hershberger, severe cuts and a back injury. The accident caused the postponement of Miss Miller's marriage to Henry Yoder.

Officers said the coal truck driver failed to see the buggy in time. The truck skidded into the path of the oncoming car and then swung around and struck the buggy.
