EDWARD REINHARD

Edw. Reinhard, son of the late John and Margareth Burgener Reinhard, was born near Locle, Switzerland, May 14, 1863. He was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed church but upon his coming to America in 1885 he united with the Mennonite church at Pulaski, Iowa.

In 1887 he located near Colfax in Washington territory. He became one of the charter members of the First Mennonite church near Colfax, when it was organized in 1893. He was married to Emma Conrad on February 8, 1910, near Bellingham, Wash., and lived on a farm near Colfax until 1928, when they moved to Colfax. He was a director of the Farmers National Bank of Colfax for many years.

He took an active interest in community enterprises and also in the work of the church, even though he has been confined to his home for several years. He was bedfast only a few days prior to his passing. He died at his late home on January 7, 1946, at the age of 82 years, seven months and twenty-three days.

He leaves to mourn his death his faithful companion, also some nephews and nieces in Switzerland, and other distant relatives and fiends in the Colfax community.

Services were conducted by his pastor assisted by Rev. H. E. Widmer on January 8. Burial at the Colfax cemetery.
