MARGARET REIMER

Margaret Reimer of Leamington, Ont. was born in the Crimean village of Buragan on May 4, 1900 to David and Margaret Enns. Four years later the family moved to Fischau, in the Molotschna settlement in southern Russia. At the age of 18 she accepted Christ as her personal Saviour. She was thankful for the opportunity to teach Sunday school and work with a Christian girls' club. She attended the Bible school in Tschongrau, graduating on May 23, 1923. That same year, on October 21, she married her former Bible school teacher, George (Gerhard) Reimer, whose wife had died, and became the mother to his two-year-old son Ferdinand. They moved to Tschongrau, but in 1924 the new Soviet government closed the school, and in 1925, with two children, Ferdinand and Eleanor, they emigrated to Canada, settling in Winkler, Man. A third child, Edwin, was born to them there. In 1936 they moved to Kingsville, Onto She was predeceased by her husband in 1970, as well as two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her three children, Ferdinand (Fred), Mrs. Eleanor Hamm, and Edwin, their spouses, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; as well as two brothers and a sister and many other friends and relatives. She passed away on January 21 in Leamington. The funeral was conducted from the Leamington Mennonite Brethren Church on January 24, with Arthur Willms, David Derksen and Victor Adrian ministering.
