MRS. JULIA SCHROEDER REIMER

Mrs. Julia Schroeder Reimer of Reedley, Calif., daughter of P. P. and Anna Schroeder, was born March 26, 1880 in Hillsboro, Marion County, Kansas. She passed away Nov. 15, 1956.

She was baptized upon her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior from sin in 1896 at the hands of the Rev. John Gerbrandt and received as a member of the Johannestal Mennonite church, Hillsboro, Kansas.

On Jan. 18, 1901, she joined hands with Abraham J. Reimer in holy wedlock at Fairview, Okla., Rev. Chris Ramseyer officiating. Here their nine children were born.

In 1921 they came to Reedley where they established their home for the rest of their days. They were members of the First Mennonite Church and wer3e faithful to God and to the church. Father Reimer passed onto his eternal reward Dec. 8, 1940.

Mother Reimer enjoyed fairly good health until recently and at the time of her death apparently was convalescing satisfactorily from internal ailments. She has gone on ahead to spend eternity with her Lord. Every faithfulness on her part as a mother and a fellow Christian will be a cherished memory. She was true and devoted to her family. She had a burning concern and love for the church. She prayed for others and her family that they might be loyal to Jesus Christ. She shall be missed as a life that was treasured.

Two children, Anna and Arthur, preceded her in death. Left to mourn her passing are Ferd, Marie, Mrs. Sam Unruh, Edward, and Earl of Reedley, Helen, Mrs. Jacob Goerzen of Dinuba, Calif., Henry of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Rose, Mrs. Clarence Nuss, Fresno, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother, P. H. Schroeder of Hillsboro, Kansas; two sisters, Mary, Mrs. David Ratzlaff of Reedley and Martha, Mrs. Cornelius Bartel of Wolf Point, Mont.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Mennonite Church of Reedley, Rev. Aaron J. Epp in charge. As a text for the sermon he used I. Thess. 4:13. A trio comprised of Mrs. Alvin Friesen, Mrs. Paul Ruth and Mrs. Aaron J. Epp sang. Money received in lieu of flowers was designated for the General Conference Board of Missions.
