HENRY REIMER

Henry Reimer died June 20. He was born July 12, 1926 in Fuerstenwerder, Molotschna Colony, Ukraine, to Johann and Maria Reimer. The family fled to Poland in Sept. 1943. Henry was drafted into the German army. He was wounded and became a prisoner of war for the remainder of the war. In 1948 the family immigrated to Volendam, Paraguay. He accepted the Lord as his Saviour in 1949, was baptized and joined the MB church. He loved music and served as song leader and choir conductor. He played the violin. In 1957 he married Frieda Rempel. In 1967 they immigrated to Vancouver. He worked for Montalco Kitchen Cabinets until his retirement. They were members of Vancouver MB Church. He was song leader, choir member, transportation committee member and church custodian. In 2002 they moved to Abbotsford, joining Clearbrook MB Church. Here he was song leader and choir member, singing in the German choir on his last Sunday. His servant attitude was a godly example to his family and friends. He was kind, gentle, generous, willing to contribute his handyman skills. He is mourned by Frieda; daughters Eleonore Wall, Washington; Gisela Reimer, Abbotsford; Sylvia Ottom, Aldergrove; Karin Barr, Washington; son John, Langley; 14 grandchildren; 2 brothers; 1 sister; 1 half-sister. The funeral was June 28 in Clearbrook MB Church.
