FERD H. REIMER

Funeral services for Ferd H. Reimer, 54, were held at the Goessel, Kans. Mennonite church on Aug. 1. 1952. Rev. L. E. Lindsted of Wichita and Rev. P. P. Buller of Newton were in charge. The Tabor men’s quartet sang at the church and also at the graveside. Their numbers included two of Ferd’s favorite songs. “This World Is Not My Home" and “Always Trust Him.”

Ferd H. Reimer was born April 12, 1898, near Lehigh, Kansas. He was baptized at the Ebenezer church, Gotebo, Okla. on April 15, 1923 by Rev. H. R. Voth, and remained a member there until the time of his passing.

On Jan. 15, 1936, he and his mother entered the Bethesda Home at Goessel. He remained there until July 21, 1952, when he was moved to the Hilton Rest Home at Council Grove, Kans., where he passed away a week later, on Monday afternoon, July 28, 1952.

Ferd was an invalid all of his life. He enjoyed listening to religious programs, as well as the visits of the minister who came to read Scripture and pray with him. He was very homesick for his mother and often found it difficult to wait so long until he could go Home to that Great Beyond. His last words were "Hima” and "Mama," which menat [sic] going Home to mother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reimer, three brothers, Pete, Henry and Jacob, and four sisters, Mrs. J. J. (Anna) Brandt, Mrs. P. (Justina) Kliewer, Maria and Elisabeth Reimer.

He leaves to mourn his departure one brother, A. H. Reimer of Hutchinson, Kans., and three sisters, Mrs. Lena Nickelson of Garnett, Kans., Mrs. Bertha Jantz of Centralia, Wash., Mrs. Susie Koehn of Ferndale, Wash.; numerous nephews and nieces, and also many other relatives and friends.
