text of obituary:

MRS. AGANETHA REIMER

Mary Hildebrand, was born on November 21, 1899, in Rueckenau, South Russia (Ukraine) . She was the fifth of six children, of whom four predeceased her. The only surviving member of her family, George Hildebrand, resides in St. Catharines, Ont.

Aganetha's early childhood was spent in Rueckenau where she received her education. At age 17 she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour. She was baptized at age 18 by Henry W. Reimer and accepted into the fellowship of the Rueckenau MB Church.

In 1922 she was married to Henry J. Reimer. One son, Jacob, was born to them shortly before they emigrated to Canada in 1924. The first two years in Canada were spent in the New Dundee area and from there they moved to Kitchener where they lived until the present time.

In 1947 they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and then in 1972 their 50th wedding anniversary. On both occasions all of the children were present.

Mrs. Reimer demonstrated her faith in Christ in her devotion to her family as a praying mother. She actively participated in numerous church activities, and for many years she faithfully looked after the details of wedding receptions and other hospitality functions of the church. Perhaps the work she loved most of all was the local Naehverein (Sewing Circle) in which she served as president for 20 years. In addition, she coordinated the local church clothing relief work of the MCC and was a committee member of the Ailsa-Craig Boys Farm for a number of years.

On June 13, at age 75, she peacefully passed away into the presence of the Lord. She leaves her husband Henry J. Reimer; three sons and their wives, Jacob and Cathv Reimer, Vancouver; Edward and Marianne Reimer, Brantford, Ont.; John and Mary Reimer, Kitchener, Ont.; two daughters and their husbands, Elfrieda and Otto MeyerHagen, Fresno, Cal.; Kathy and Abe Dueck, Winnipeg; and 16 grandchildren.
