MARGARET EPP REGIER

Margaret Epp Regier, daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Wiens) Epp, was born March 5, 1890 at Inman, Kan. As a cheerful, energetic but frail child, she enjoyed her happy parental home in the Inman-Buhler area.

She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized and received into the membership of the Bethel Mennonite Church at Inman.

After her elementary school years in the Inman area, she furthered her education in nurses training at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton. Following this she attended the Fort Wayne Bible College, Fort Wayne, Ind., for two years. She had a great interest in a good Christian education for her children. The Lord gave her a brilliant and alert mind. She kept pace with the times by reading and keen observation.

In 1913 she with her parents moved to a farm near Minneola, Kan. She had many happy memories of the years in western Kansas.

On Oct 1, 1922, she was married to Cornelius Regier, and they established their home near Elbing, Kan. To this union were born four children.

After a final brief illness, she passed away Feb. 2, 1965, at the age of 74 years. At the time of her death she was a member of the Elbing Missionary Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, who died in 1945, and two brothers, Abraham in infancy and Henry in 1946.

Surviving are her children, Mildred, Otto and Howard of the home, and Menno and wife Doris of Route 3, Newton; two grandsons, Myron Titus and James Elden Regier; one brother, Walter P. Epp of Wichita; and a sister, Marie, Mrs. Jacob Ratzlaff of Newton.

Funeral services were held at the Zion Mennonite Church on Feb. 5 with Rev. Jerry Peaster and Rev. H. J. Dyck officiating. Interment was in the Zion Church cemetery.
