John A. Regier

John A. Regier, aged 80, for many years a resident of Harvey county, died suddenly at his home in Moundridge Monday morning at 10 o’clock. He was stricken with heart trouble while at work in the back yard of his home. He was carried into his home, but before the arrival of the physician who was immediately summoned, he had passed away. Mr. Regier suffered a paralytic stroke about five years ago.

Surviving Mr. Regier are his wife and three daughters and six sons. The children are Mrs. John Buhler, of Buhler; Mrs. Arthur Becher of this city; Mrs. Elmer Schowalter of Wichita; John of near Moundridge, Abe of Moundridge, Will of Inman, Frank of McPherson and Dave and Herbert who are located in western Kansas.

Mr. Regier was born in South Russia. He came to this country more than fifty years ago, settling on a farm about six miles southwest of Moundridge. About ten years ago he and Mrs. Regier moved to Moundridge. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago last June.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at one o’clock at the home and at 1:30 at the West Zion church in Moundridge. Burial will take place in the Moundridge cemetery.
