. . .

— A large number of relatives and friends from here attended the funeral of Jacob C. Regier at the First Mennonite church of Buhler last Friday afternoon, which evidently was one of the largest funerals held in that community in recent years. Mr. Regier, mill operator and one of Buhler's leading citizens, was a member of the Bethel College board of directors. Although not in the best of health, he was able to be about his work but suffered a heart attack Monday night, June 5. He was immediately taken to a Hutchinson hospital where he died the following morning, on Tuesday, June 6. Born at Moundridge March 1, 1882, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Regier, he reached the age of 62 years and three months. His wife died in 1941 as result of an automobile accident in Florida. Children surviving are Harold and Louis of Buhler, Herbert of Wichita and Mrs. Harold Ratzlaff of Champa, India. The funeral at Buhler was conducted by the local pastor, Rev. Henry Freeman, and Dr. P. A. Penner of Newton.
