IRWIN J. REGIER

Irwin J. Regier, son of John D. and Martha (Unrau) Regier, was born near Moundridge, Kansas on April 17, 1924, and passed away Feb. 19, 1949, at his home, reaching the age of 24 years, 10 months, and 2 days.

Until the age of five months Irwin was a healthy and normal child. Soon afterwards he developed hydrocephalus. All medical help was sought, but we were told that his disease was incurable.

For about two years he suffered a great deal. After that his condition improved and remained about the same for the rest of his life. He was a helpless invalid.

On Tuesday Feb. 15 he developed a cold, which settled on his lungs. On the following Saturday morning his condition suddenly became serious, and at 1:20 p. m. he quietly passed away to his eternal reward.

He never really realized his condition. He was always cheerful. We, as healthy individuals, often felt that we had much to learn from him in this respect. He was very much attached to the family, especially to his mother who cared for him, and he will be greatly missed by all of us.

He leaves to mourn his sudden passing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Regier of Moundridge, Verna (Mrs. Gilmer Krehbiel) of McPherson, Hilda (Mrs. Arthur Franz) of Canton, Willard of Moundridge, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, one nephew and two nieces. One brother, Carl, preceded him in death.

He has gone to be with his Heavenly Father where there will be no suffering and pain.

Funeral services were held at the Alexanderwohl church on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 22, 1949, conducted by Rev. Philip A. Wedel, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. William Unrau of Bethel college.
