NATIVE OF NEBRASKA DIES AT REEDLEY

Reedley, Calif. — Funeral services for Henry G. [sic Henry Roger] Regier, 82, a former business man at Henderson, Neb. and resident here the past 30 years, were held at the Cairns Chapel on April 27. Rev. Dan Friesen, pastor of the Reedley M. B. Church officiated.

Born in South Russia, Mr. Regier came to this country in 1879. He died here April 23. He is survived by three children, Frank of Wichita, Kan., Henry of Engleside, Neb. and Mrs. Elizabeth Hannaman [sic Elisabeth Hanneman] of Burns, Kan.

HENRY R. REGIER

Henry Roger Regier, the son of Bernhard and Elizabeth Goetzen Regier [sic Elisabeth Goertzen Regier], was born on Dec. 13, 1876, in Klippenfeld, South Russia. He passed away April 23, 1959, at 10:00 a.m. at the age of 82 years, four months, and 10 days. In 1879, he came with his parents to America and settled on a farm near Henderson, Neb.

On May 16, 1899, he was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth [sic Elisabeth] Wiens. She passed away in 1942. Eight children were born to this union. Four of them passed away in infancy. One son, Ben, also preceded his father in death in his manhood.

Mr. Regier was in business in Henderson, Neb. for some time, and in 1930 he came to Reedley, Calif. where he spent some time living with his sister. Here he had the misfortune of having one arm amputated in 1932 as the result of blood poisoning. The last few years of his life he spent in the Home for the Aged in Reedley where he also passed away.

Those who remain to mourn his departure are three children: Frank Regier of Wichita, Kansas, Henry Regier of Engleside, Neb., and Elizabeth [sic Elisabeth], Mrs. Wesley Hannaman [sic Hanneman] of Burns, Kansas. Besides these there are grandchildren, nephews, niece, and friends.

The memorial services was held at the Cairns Funeral Home at Reedley, Calif. on April 27 with Rev. Dan Friesen officiating.
