MRS. ELIZABETH REGIER

Mrs. Elizabeth Regier, daughter of Peter and Katherine Cornelsen Lohrentz, was born in Gnadenfeld, South Russia, on October 2, 1870. She departed this life on March 21, 1950, reaching the age of 79 years, five months and 18 days. She emigrated [sic] to this country with her parents in 1874 and settled in Harvey county. Kansas.

She was baptized upon her confession of faith on June 1, 1890, by Elder Bernhard Buhler and received into the membership of the Hebron Mennonite church, of which she was a faithful member until her departure.

On October 31, 1907, she was married to Jacob A. Regier with whom she shared life's joys and sorrows for 35 years. In 1932 they were privileged to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

After father Regier passed away she chose to make her home with the Peter Lohrentz family until her condition became such that she could no longer take care of herself. She entered the home for the aged at Goessel, Kansas, on April 10, 1947. She had been completely helpless for the last six months and needed much attention. She received the best care the doctors, nurses and helpers could render.

She is survived by three half-brothers, Jacob R., Peter R., John A., and two half-sisters, Anna R. and Mary R. Lohrentz, all of Moundridge. She is survived also by seven step-children, Elizabeth Schmidt and George L. W. Regier of Moundridge; John L. W. Regier and Margaret Klassen of Hillsboro: Anna Stepnack, Katie L. W. Regier and Mary Wolf, all of Oregon, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 25, at the home for the aged in Goessel and at the Hebron church, Buhler, Kans., with Rev. J. M. Regier and Rev Elbert Koontz officiating.
