20 YEAR OLD GIRL IS KILLED, BROTHER BADLY INJURED IN CRASH

Sardis, B. C. — A 20-year-old Greendale girl is dead and her 22 year old brother is in serious condition in Vancouver General hospital after their car rammed a slow moving freight train at the SNR Young Rd. crossing early Saturday morning, May 12.

Annie Regehr, who celebrated her 20th birthday just 12 days before, was rushed to Chilliwack General hospital shortly after 3 a. m. and died there a few hours later.

The girl's brother, Victor Regehr, was freed from the wreckage and taken to Chilliwack General hospital and later transferred to Vancouver.

The funeral was held in the Mennonite Brethren Church, since the United Mennonite Church, of which the Regehrs are members, burned down last winter and rebuilding has not been completed.
