— Newton citizens were saddened last week because of the death of Horace W. Reed, long-time clothing merchant of the city, early Thursday evening. Mr. Reed has taken an active part in building Newton and in advancing the interests of the community. Funeral services were held at his home Monday forenoon. His son, Santry Reed, formerly of Louisiana, will carry on the business and extends a welcome to all former customers to continue making the store their clothing headquarters.
