MRS. LU FANTINA REDGER

Lu Fantina (Tina) Smith Redger, daughter of Jacob T. and Lena (Jantz) Smith, was born March 15, 1895 at El Dorado, Kan. In the early morning of Nov. 24, 1971 she peacefully passed from this earthly life to her heavenly home, for which she so earnestly longed during the last hours of her life. She reached the age of 76 years, eight months and nine days.

On Jan. 15, 1916 she was married to Lue Redger. For 55 years they shared joys and sorrows. They lived on a farm in Marion County near Durham, Kan. This union was blessed with two sons and three daughters.

On March 30, 1913 she was baptized by Elder Henry R. Voth. On Nov. 15, 1931 she, with her husband, joined the Friedenstal Mennonite Church of which she remained a faithful member until her death.

Tina was a kind and loving mother and grandmother. It gave her great joy when her oldest grandson, Ray Dean, received the Lord as his Saviour. She had the privilege of taking communion with him and others on June 6 of this year.

Three years ago she underwent surgery and never fully regained her health.

Sharing the grief of her passing are her husband of the home near Durham; the children, Frances and husband Herman Friesen of Hutchinson, Kan., Ellsworth of Las Animas, Colo., Clinton and wife Lola of Durham, Verla of the home, and Marliss of San Antonio, Tex.; three grandchildren; four brothers and four sister, Mrs. Lena Unruh of Hillsboro, Kan., Jake and Pete Smith, both of Enid, Okla., Dave Smith of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Anna Wahl of Balko, Okla., Henry Smith of Meno, Okla., Mrs. Bertha Becker of Enid, Okla., Mrs. Mary Kruse of Hesston, Kan., and a host of relatives, friends and neighbors.
