Agnes Redekop

Agnes Redekop of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Feb. 8. She was born Oct. 16, 1901 to Jacob and Helen Thiessen in Russia. In 1903 the family immigrated to Manitoba. They moved to Greenfarm, Sask. in 1905. During her teen years, she accepted Jesus, was baptized and was received into the local MB church. She attended Bible school in 1924 and 1925. She married David Redekop June 24, 1928. She faithfully sought to meet the physical and spiritual needs of their 8 children. The work of missions and the needs of the poor were heavy on her heart. She worked for the Red Cross, supported orphans in distant lands and participated in the ladies' fellowship group. She quilted until health no longer permitted. She loved God's Word and her church. When her eyes deteriorated, she listened to the Bible on tapes, even in her last days in hospital. She is remembered as a godly mother who was loved by all and as one who was a faithful servant of the Lord all her life. She was a member of Clearbrook MB Church. Predeceased by her husband and children Jacob and Mary, she is survived by her children Margaret Sweet, Elizabeth Unrau, Helen, Alvina Barnes, Katy Rangen and Abe; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 4 brothers and sisters. The funeral was Feb. 13, with John E. Klassen and Jacob Pauls ministering.
