Kansas Pioneer Called by Death

Buhler, Kan. — Death removed one of the pioneer Mennonite settlers of this community with the passing in Grace hospital at Hutchinson last Sunday of Mrs. Sara Ratzlaff, 88. She had been ill nine months.

Funeral services were arranged for Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 30, at the Hoffnungsau Mennonite church, with Rev. C. H. Voth and Rev. P. K. Regier officiating.

Mrs. Ratzlaff was born in Russia on Aug. 4, 1871, and came to the United States with one of the early groups of immigrants in 1874.

Surviving are two sons, five daughters, 15 gradnchildren [sic] and 11 great-grandchildren.
