David H. Ratzlaff Dies of Injuries
______

David H. Ratzlaff of Scott City, died Friday morning at 2:00 o’clock at Bethel hospital, as the result of injuries he sustained last Saturday while at work with a hay baler near Scott City. In some manner Mr. Ratzlaff was caught in a chain belt and was drawn into the revolving machinery in such a way that a leg was fractured and badly mangled, and he was otherwise seriously bruised and lacerated. He received treatment at Scott City but his condition failed to improve, and in fact became most serious, and he was brought to the local hospital Thursday, and in spite of everything that could be done for him, he was in such a weakened condition that he could not survive.

The Ratzlaff family formerly resided at Hillsboro, where the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock. The Carter Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Ratzlaff came from Scott City and was with her husband when he passed away. The family also have many relatives in the country north of Newton and in the vicinity of Hillsboro, and they have the sympathy of all in this sad bereavement.
