text of obituary:

MRS. MARIA QUIRING NEE NICKEL, 81

Mrs. Maria Quiring, nee Nickel 81 was born in Fuerstenland, South Russia: Here she spent the happy years of her youth. Here she found peace and assurance of salvation and was baptized in her eighteenth year and accepted into the Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1902 she migrated to Canada with her parents and found a temporary home in Winkler, Manitoba. In the following year the family moved to Springfield, Saskatchewan.

In 1903 she entered into holy matrimony with H. C. Quiring, widower and immediately accepted the responsibility as mother of two-year-old daughter Helen. The Lord blessed this union with 12 children, 7 sons and 5 daughters. One son predeceased her at the early age of four years. The Lord blessed her with health, strength and courage so that she could faithfully discharge her family responsibilities in love and with great devotion even under the difficult and often trying circumstances of pioneer life.

Our parents had the joy and privilege of living together in marriage for 61 years. By the providence of God, Mother departed from this life on the day of their 61st wedding anniversary. For father she was a faithful wife. For us children she was a loving mother.

Surviving her are: her husband Mr. Henry C. Quiring; six daughters, six sons and their families.

We thank the Lord for granting her to us and for sustaining her these many years. We thank him also for taking her unto himself. She will remain with us in loving memory.
