Anna Quiring

Anna Quiring of Calgary passed away Feb. 27. She was born May 15, 1905 in Fuerstenwerder, southern Russia. She accepted Christ early in life and was baptized in the MB church, where she remained a member all her life. She married George Quiring in 1924. They immigrated to Canada in 1925, settling in Namaka, Alta., where they farmed 42 years. They retired to Calgary in 1968. She remained in her home until fall, 1987, when she moved to a seniors apartmemt. All but 1 of her children spent time with her on her last day. Predeceased by her husband in 1973 and oldest daughter Annie Wittenberg in 1984, she is survived by her sons George of Edmonton, Abe of Winnipeg, and Alfred and Ted of Calgary; daughters Lydia Nickel of Tofield, Alta. and Agatha Friesen, Bertha Schmidt and Esther Epp of Calgary; 39 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and 1 brother. The funeral was Mar. 2 in Highland MB Church, Calgary, with ,Jim Shantz and son Abe Quiring ministering.
