IDA GRABER PREHEIM

Mrs. Ida Graber Preheim, daughter of Jacob B. and Mary (Graber) Graber, was born on Nov. 16, 1890 on a farm near Freeman, S. D. She attended elementary school and continued her education through much reading in both the English and German languages.

Upon her confession of faith she was baptized by Rev. Christian Kaufman on June 24, 1906 and became a member of the Salem-Zion Mennonite church of Marion, S. D., later transferring her membership to the Salem church of Freeman, S. D. where she was a faithful member until her death.

On May 21, 1911 she was united in marriage with Jonath Preheim. They enjoyed this union for over 51 years, 49 of which were spent on a farm near Freeman and two years in retirement.

Mother enjoyed good health until a year ago. On April 4, 1962 she had to submit to surgery which revealed evidence of cancer in an advanced stage. She accepted all this with complete submission and went about her daily tasks as long as strength permitted. She passed away at the Freeman Community Hospital on Feb. 12, attaining an age of 72 years, two months and 26 days.

Survivors in her immediate family are her husband, two daughters, Louise (Mrs. E. P. Graber) and Elva (Mrs. Ed Ries); two sons, Leonard and Clarence, two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Graber, Sioux Falls, S. C., and Sister Lizzie Graber, Beatrice, Neb.; and one brother, Peter B. Graber of Freeman. One grandchild preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Feb. 14 at the Salem Mennonite Church of Freeman, S. D., Rev. J. Herbert Fretz officiating. She was laid to rest at the Salem cemetery. — The Family.
