ANNA PHILIPPSEN

Mrs. Anna Philippsen was born in Sagradowka, southern Russia, on December 22, 1904 to Johann and Katharina Friesen. While she was a small child her parents moved to Siberia and later to the Barnaul settlement.

On April 5, 1922 she married Heinrich Philippsen with whom she lived for 49 years. While in Russia their marriage was blessed with four sons, of whom two died in infancy. In 1930 they came to Canada where the Lord gave them two more children, a son and a daughter. After living in Manitoba for several years, they moved to Black Creek, B.C. In 1947 she was predeceased by her son, Henry.

The illness during the last few months of her life she accepted as God's will. Her firm faith and trust proved to be a blessing and encouragement to many.

She passed away peacefully on July 21 at the age of 66.

She is survived by her husband, Heinrich Philippsen of Black Creek, Man.; two sons, Alvin of Black Creek and Walter of West Vancouver; one daughter, Erika Pleasance of Victoria; two brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
