CORNELIUS P. PETKER

Funeral services were held for the late Cornelius P. Petker at the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church on January 20. Officiating ministers were H. P. Nikkel and D. J. Pankratz. The Rev. J. J. Siemens read the Scripture and led in prayer at the graveside.

Brother Petker was born in Orenburg, Russia. In 1925 he married Margaret Dueck. Seven children were born of this union. In 1926 they emigrated and a year later became resident in Coaldale, Alberta.

Here, upon confession of his faith, brother Petker became a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" is his testimony today. He passed away at his residence on January 17, at the age of 67.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, three sons, two daughters, a son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, and 16 grandchildren. He has a brother and sister in Russia, and one sister and many friends and relatives here.
